I created this image using information from a photograph I took while in my early 20's of a place near the jump-off into Fall Creek Basin at the beginning of Skyline Ridge. I was herding sheep for a dear friend and when I viewed the slide years later, the rock outcropping seemed to be the ideal setting for hungarian partridges; the two elements came together perfectly.

Steve Spencer, an Idaho native, is a self-taught wildlife, landscape and portrait artist. His paintings are the fruit of rigorous contact with the source, the hours he spends in front of an easel are preceded by weeks in the mountains and canyons of the west.
